Clarity comes in unexpected ways
Soul Mana was the beginning.
But beginnings don’t last forever.
It’s time for something deeper—
something focused, something curious.
It’s been the pride of my life writing here on Soul Mana.
It’s the first thing that’s ever felt truly mine.
But it’s time for a change.
I’m starting a new Substack.
Time to Focus
At the start of 2024, I set a word to guide the year: discipline.
Doing more of what makes me better, even when I didn’t feel like it.
For 2025, the word was creativity.
That call to produce—to give my thoughts form—birthed Soul Mana.
Now, as 2026 approaches, one word keeps coming back to me: focus.
I’m in a season of discernment—around my career, relationships, and purpose.
And I believe the only way through is to focus:
on what brings life, not what drains it.
On what feels true, not just what feels comfortable.
The Curious Christian
To do that well, I’m starting a new publication:
The Curious Christian
Here, I’ll share my wonder at the vast mystery of God—
asking questions rarely heard in church.
Bigger questions, like:
What is the mechanism of action for God?
How does He actually act out His will on Earth?
And smaller ones, like:
Why do we close our eyes when we pray?
Does a God of an infinite universe care about swearing?
Not to doubt Him, but to know Him more.
To explore faith with both reverence and curiosity.
I’m just a man…
I’m not a seminarian or a classically trained theologian.
But I don’t believe that disqualifies me from sharing what I believe.
My ideas, thoughts, and faith are my own.
They’ll be well-researched, but rooted in human curiosity—
meant to be discussed, debated, and tested
in the pursuit of knowing Him more deeply.
What’s Next
I’ll still write on Soul Mana with the same rhythm—
poems and reflections on wisdom, meaning, and purpose.
But most of the God-talk will now live on The Curious Christian.
